Growing tomorrow’s big thinkers
Welcome to Tiny Nation, New Zealand’s new home-based early learning movement. Founded by parents who are passionate about giving our pre-schoolers the best start in life, we’re on a mission to nurture our tiniest citizens.
We believe in the power of curiosity, the importance of play and the need for authentic connections.
We understand the importance of the early years and how our children benefit from being a part of small groups in familiar and loving environments. We want all children to have the chance to realise their full potential and have great futures. To support this, we recruit the best qualified teachers, educators and nannies. We then empower them to run early learning services from their own homes or the homes of our Tiny Nation families.
Families
Deciding on who will look after your child when you can’t is probably one of the biggest decisions you’ll ever make. We’re here to help. We have a focus on recruiting trained educators and qualified teachers who will provide the best possible care and education for your little one. Choose Tiny Nation and know that your child will benefit from having someone who loves them just like you do.
Educators or Nannies
If you’re a trained educator or qualified teacher who is interested in working with a team of passionate change makers in early childhood education, we’d love to hear from you. We have parents ready and waiting to meet an educator or nanny who will love their child just like they do. Could it be you?
The Tiny Nation Difference
Research shows that qualifications are a strong indicator of quality early learning for children. Having an awareness of early childhood education research, theories and philosophies provides educators with the tools and knowledge they need to give children the best possible start in life. In a sector where over 70% of educators and nannies are untrained, we’re passionate about walking the talk around quality and having 100% of our educators and nannies trained. We’ve set out to professionalise home-based early childhood education.
We believe in the power of relationships and the importance of connection. The relationships our children have in the first five years will influence everything about their growth and development, determining the adults they will become. Our model allows parents to hand-pick the educator or nanny that best meets the needs of their child; someone who will become a part of their family and who will love their child just like they do.
We offer a range of personal and professional learning opportunities to educators, nannies and families. We also offer support through a collaborative partnership approach, working alongside industry experts and other organisations to provide our Tiny Nation community with the latest resources, information and learning in early childhood education.
We’ve developed innovative solutions to take the pain out of paperwork. We provide every educator and nanny with access to an electronic platform that connects them with their programme and our support systems. Families can sign in and out using the tablet and receive important communication and learning stories about their children in real time.
